Happy first fall public day, dear friend! A couple of days ago I invited you to check out our entry (if you missed it, see it here). But today I wanted to give you a peek outside the door to my fall front porch, 2022 edition! I added some simple, but friendly touches that bring us a little extra joy every time we come home.
I’ll also have a porch attached to teach you too soon! We added a beautiful blue rug there and I love how cozy it is. Can’t wait to share with you! Make sure you’re subscribed to my free newsletter so you don’t miss anything (even sharing things there that I don’t share elsewhere).
This is the vintage fisherman’s basket you could see inside the entrance! It’s a really nice basket that I picked up at an antique market recently. I just put two potted heather plants in it so they can be watered easily. You can find lots of similar fishing baskets here.
I added this white cord to the small loop. It gives it a nautical vibe, which is fun for a beach house. As the basket on the back sort of collapsed, I decided not to immediately hang from the rope, although that was what I had planned. The rope was quite charming, though I left there. The basket is actually hanging from brown braid that I was able to tie to the basket. And all alone in a cup hanging on a hook in the door!
You can take a look at our gallery below!
We also used plants and pots for digestion. I think you can mix and match the planters, it’s an eclectic look but that’s how I roll. I bought the beautiful blue and white pots locally, sometimes at Ace Hardware, sometimes at Christianson. We brought some from our old house. I got these resin baskets this summer. Some plants fall into pots that I thought were cute and I just used them! Wouldn’t it be neat if the plants all came in pretty pots? Right now they are sitting in pots, but I will probably plant some of them.
Jack and Lily were so curious about all the new plants and pumpkins. They loved them! But because Jack sometimes I eat plants We are trying to save more places than we can. He didn’t watch out at the front to make sure the plants (and Jack) were safe!
Have you seen anything familiar in this area? Look at the house. do you see Ahhhh! It is BAACCCCCKKKK. We had a lantern at our old house, it is finally in the house, and here it is ready for service. It was so much fun to decorate the lantern at our last house over and over again (see some of the ways I decorated it here). My lamp is from stock, but this one looks like yours! I just added preserved moss and candles to this battle. We also put candles on the windows of the cottage. I will show you soon!
While we were there the other day I saw these adorable ‘Cinderella pumpkins’ at the local market. The colors are so beautiful, they had to come home with me.
Fun fact, I can officially say I’ve owned this house for four seasons now! Do you believe this? But I think this is our first full season here since we just sold our house in Seattle and moved last year. We think we will have a lot of fun in this gallery every year and every season. For I know :).
